Individual and Groups Under 10 Reservation

Request Daily Permit use of Prairie Fork Today!

Prairie Fork is a Nature Study Area (non-consumptive uses) that requires a daily use permit for access to the property. Collection or removal of any item is prohibited from the area. This includes wildflowers and berries. Hunting is not allowed; however, catch-and-release fishing is permitted for groups with prior area manager approval. All fishing regulations and licensing requirements apply.

We have a strict Leave No Trace policy, https://lnt.org/, and it is enforced area-wide.

For self-guided use, each vehicle parked on-site needs to fill out a separate permit. When approved, a daily use permit will be issued.  Area visitors must keep a copy of their approved permit while using the area.

Daily use permit approval is based on area availability. Once you submit your request, our staff will get back to you within 72 hours with a response. If you have additional questions, you can call our office Monday thru Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm.

Activities that typically get fast or immediate approval include Nature Study, Photography, Hiking, Birding, and Botany. Other individual or group activities that require additional planning may take more time for approval.
